Financial Donations
State and Federal Grants: DVGP (Domestic Violence Grant Program): State domestic violence funding program. Monies come from a surcharge on marriage licence fees and general fund appropriation. Currently a license fee is $45 and our portion is $38. *ESG (Emergency Shelter Grant: State funding for emergency housing services). FVPSA (Family Violence Prevention and Services Act): Federal domestic violence funding program, distributed by states based on a population formula. FVPSA Domestic Violence Program Specialists (DVPS): Funds to support placement of a DVPS in the Division for Child, Youth and Family (DCYF) district office to provide direct coordination between the crisis centers and DCYF. RBG (Rape Block Grant): Federal funding for sexual assault services, from a Preventative Health Block Grant and the Violence Against Women Act. *VOCA (Victims of Crime Act): Federal funding program for direct services to victims of crime, with priority given to victims of sexual and domestic violence, financed by penalty assessments on federal crime fines. AVAP (AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program): The Coalition is the fiscal agent for AVAP. AmeriCorp members are trained as victim advocates and then placed with crisis centers and prosecutor's offices. * indicates the Coalition only manages a portion of the funds.
