Summary of Volunteer Opportunities |
Volunteer opportunities with MCVP include: |
Crisis Intervention Worker (CIW) – A trained volunteer will listen to and validate, educate and support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. The CIW will provide information & referrals and discuss options for the survivor for the present and future. The survivor's safety is our greatest concern. Opportunities are available for either our 24-hour crisis hotline or in our office during business hours. (A 40-hour training is required prior to assignment.) Fundraising and Event Planning -MCVP is always in need of this essential support. The annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in April is one great example of a time we need special help. Shelter Opportunities - Our emergency shelter provides a short-term, safe and confidential living place for survivors and their children who are fleeing an abusive relationship. Volunteers are needed to assist with providing support to survivors seeking safety in the shelter, delivering specialized programs, managing donations, etc. Click here for an application!
